Morris County Surrogate Heather J. Darling, Esq., hosted her annual Breakfast and Conversation initiative, welcoming attorneys from across the region to the Surrogate’s Court office in Morristown. Guests included practitioners who regularly handle probate, estate administration, wills and guardianship matters before the Surrogate’s Court.
Held in an informal setting, the breakfast gives the legal community a direct line to Surrogate Darling and her staff outside of routine filings and appointments. Attorneys were encouraged to raise questions, share their experiences working with the office, and offer suggestions on how the Surrogate’s Court can better serve attorneys and their clients.
The morning also gave attendees a chance to meet the staff who process their probate applications, guardianship filings and related paperwork. “Getting acquainted in person strengthens the working relationship between the court and the bar. That benefits the families who are navigating what are often very difficult legal matters” said Surrogate Darling.
